“They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing.” Psalms 22:18

The Holy Spirit prophesies through the Psalmist concerning the sufferings the Christ would undergo to give back to humanity its lost glory. God clothed man not with perishable garments, but with imperishable grace which covered his body with the splendour of holiness and uprightness. Jesus heals the wounds of our shame and guilt especially for sins against holiness by taking upon Himself the shame of being stripped of His garments.
