These remained faithful to the teaching of the Apostles, to the brotherhood, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers (Acts 2:42)
Those who wish to associate in the evangelising mission of the Community of Grace and desire to embrance its charism and spirituality are very welcome to do so in the following ways: they may become Consecrated members, Associate members or be enlisted as Friends of the Community.
The Consecrated members take vows of celibacy, (Mathew 19:11-12) live in community either fully or periodically, hold everything in common (Acts 4:32) and work to support the mission of the Community. (Acts 20:33-35)
The Associate members are men, women, youth, lay or clerics/religious who follow the exercises and the spirituality of the Community but live with their families, communities or independently.
Friends of the Community take part in some exercises of the Community, and follow some aspects of its spirituality for their personal growth in faith and to strengthen their commitment to the Church.
He replied, ‘Come and see’; so they went and saw where He lived, and stayed with Him that day. (John 1:39)
Our Community is open to all people whom God leads to us (Acts 2:47) – who desire to learn and grow in the Catholic Faith. People who come into contact with us receive a taste of our spirituality through the prayer meetings, Bible classes and spiritual counselling sessions that we conduct and they are free to continue as our associates by remaining in our spirituality. All our associates are constantly encouraged to remain faithful to the grace of God and grow in virtue by following our spiritual exercises.
Blessed is he who perseveres and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days (Daniel 12:12)
Our spirituality is nurtured by means of a formation period of four years. During this period, the individual undergoes a period of spiritual formation by listening and meditating on the Word of God, being melted, moulded, filled and used by the Spirit of God.
And how, ever since you were a child, you have known the Holy Scriptures – from these you can learn the Wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for refuting error, for guiding people’s lives and teaching them to be upright. This is how someone who is dedicated to God becomes fully equipped and ready for any good work. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
The individuals who are called to this grace are urged to persevere in holiness, constant prayer, personal vigils, fasting and zealous meditation on the Scriptures. It is after much resolute perseverance that the individual attains this spirituality.
