The Apostles ‘spoke as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech.’ Happy the man whose words issue from the Holy Spirit and not from himself!

The man who is slow to grasp things but who really tries hard is rewarded, equally he who does not cultivate his God-given intellectual ability is condemned for despising his gifts and sinning by sloth.

Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that the Lord is with you, and therefore no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence.

The dove loves when it quarrels; the wolf hates when it flatters.

A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent in sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Let Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament speak to your hearts. It is He who is the true answer of life that you seek. He stays here with us: He is God with us. Seek Him without tiring, welcome Him without reserve, love Him without interruption: today, tomorrow , for ever!

Be ever engaged, so that whenever the Devil calls he may find you occupied.

Oh, how precious time is! Blessed are those who know how to make good use of it. Oh, if only all could understand how precious time is, undoubtedly everyone would do his best to spend it in a praiseworthy manner!

In times of aridity when I am incapable of praying, of practicing virtue, I seek little opportunities, mere trifles, to give pleasure to Jesus; for instance a smile, a pleasant word when inclined to be silent and to show weariness.
