The Name of Jesus, like the Word of God that He is, is a two-edged sword. It is a Name that means salvation and life; it is a Name that means a struggle and a cross, just as it did for Him.

God loves you, but even more - He longs for you. He misses you when you don’t come close. He thirsts for you. Only open your heart to be loved by Him as you are. He will do the rest.

Reading the Holy Scriptures confers two benefits. It trains the mind to understand them; it turns man’s attention from the follies of the world and leads him to the love of God.

God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.

Enjoy yourself as much as you like – if only you keep from sin.

Jesus is my only friend.

Ultimately, only God can save man, but He expects man to cooperate. The fact that man can cooperate with God determines his authentic greatness. With God, man "creates" his personal salvation.

All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as they are the works of men; Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man.

O Mary, you are so anxious to help us that you are hurt when we do not ask you for graces.

The Apostles ‘spoke as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech.’ Happy the man whose words issue from the Holy Spirit and not from himself!

What we need most in order to make progress is to be silent before this great God with our appetite and with our tongue, for the language He best hears is silent love.

It is true: Jesus is a demanding friend. He points to lofty goals: he asks us to go out of ourselves in order to meet him, entrusting to him our whole life.

Be humble and you will never be disturbed. It is very difficult in practice because we all want to see the result of our work. Leave it to Jesus.

The dove loves when it quarrels; the wolf hates when it flatters.

The man who is slow to grasp things but who really tries hard is rewarded, equally he who does not cultivate his God-given intellectual ability is condemned for despising his gifts and sinning by sloth.

The riches of my Spouse are poverty, ignominy and humiliations. Even I too have got it. God has given me the special grace to suffer with Jesus. What else more should I aspire for?

You must realise now, more clearly than ever, that God is calling you to serve Him in and from the ordinary activities of life. He waits for us everyday, in the factory, in the home and in all the immense panorama of work.

Spiritual joy arises from purity of the heart and perseverance in prayer.

The surest safeguard against anger is to let it cool off.

When you think of going to mass on working days, it is an impulse of the grace that God willed to grant you. FOLLOW IT.
