Pay attention to the Lord’s warning to be watchful

“Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened by debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly, like a trap.” Luke 21:34. Christ exhorts us to be watchful and alert. How seriously we must take this warning! In spite of this warning from Jesus, many of us simply continue in our laziness and indifference, choosing the broad road to Hell rather than the narrow path to Heaven. Today, however, let us start anew and make an effort to listen carefully to the warning of the Divine Master. Let us be watchful in prayer so that our hearts may remain faultless and pure before Him, unconquered by evil passions.
