Following Jesus on the way to Calvary by carrying our own crosses

April 1, 2017“Then speaking to all, He said, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of Mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross every day and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
If we desire to follow Jesus, we must renounce ourselves - in other words give up everything we have. Only if we thus become empty handed can we expect to take up our cross, which are the difficulties each of us will encounter in our personal lives. Whatever the difficulty, we have to take it up exactly as Jesus took up His Cross - with love and meekness. Imitating our Saviour, let us follow Him along the way carrying our crosses.
