But you must keep steady all the time; put up with suffering; do the work of preaching the gospel; fulfil the service asked of you. (2 Timothy 4:5)
Proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, give encouragement - but do all with patience and with care to instruct. The time is sure to come when people will not accept sound teaching, but their ears will be itching for anything new and they will collect for themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes; and then they will shut their ears to the truth and will turn to myths. (2Timothy 4:2-4)
An important part of our ministry is to preach the unadulterated Word of God. (2Corinthians 2:17)
The Word of God is the truth which sets all men free. (John 17:17; John 8:32)
Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI quoted during his speech to the Cardinals at the Conclave:
Today, having a clear faith based on the Creed of the Church is often labeled as fundamentalism. Whereas relativism, that is, letting oneself be “tossed here and there, carried about by every wind of doctrine” (Ephesians 4:14), seems the only attitude that can cope with modern times.
Our Mission in these modern times is to remain in, proclaim and defend the unchanging and true doctrine of the Catholic Church and to refute all false teachings and ideologies. (2 Thessalonians 2:15; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
