Jesus shows us His love, by giving us crosses. He sends crosses and sorrows only to those whom He loves. As for me, suffering is delightful. I consider that day when I don’t have the chance to suffer, as a day which is lost.

Prayer purifies us, reading instructs us... If a man wants to be always in God’s company, he must pray regularly and read regularly. When we pray, we talk to God; when we read, God talks to us.

I am certain that even if I had on my conscience every imaginable crime, I should lose nothing of my confidence; rather I would hurry, with a heart broken with sorrow, to throw myself into the arms of my Jesus.

“Rejoice in the Lord, you who are upright, praise His unforgettable holiness.” Psalm 97:12
Grace and Peace! God asks all people to be upright in their thoughts, words and deeds. What does uprightness mean? Putting it very simply, uprightness means doing what is right. We may be quite unconcerned whether our actions are right or wrong, but doing what is right and wrong both have a great effect. Each time we do the right thing, we receive a mark of approval from God - we hear the voice of God resounding in our depths, “Well done, my son! You have done well, my daughter!” Hearing this voice of God gives us what we call ‘joy’, the deep satisfaction of knowing that we are approved and loved by God. Let us do our best to find out the right thing to do, and then put all our energy into carrying it out! Praise God!

“Mary said, ‘Behold the handmaid of the Lord: be it done to me according to thy word.’ And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38
Grace and Peace! The Blessed Virgin Mary enjoyed great favour in the sight of the Lord - so much that He chose Her to be the first to receive the news of His great plan of salvation. The humble Virgin did not disappoint the trust God placed in Her - no sooner than she understood God's plan, she said 'Yes' to God without hesitating. As we start the New Year, let us like the Mother of God, say 'Yes' to God's plan for us with faith. “Yes, Lord, here I am to do Your Will!” As we join our words to hers at the start of the New Year, let us look forward to a bright future filled with everlasting blessings, joy, glory and honour. Praise God!
